Geraldine Yandell

Headmistress Junior School, Beech Hall School, Macclesfield

Qualifying in 1985, Geraldine was appointed Head of Music at Beech Hall School.  As the school expanded and developed from a Prep-school into a through school from Nursery to Year 11, Geraldine was appointed Deputy Head in 2008 and became Headmistress in 2010.  Geraldine trained as an ISI team inspector in 2003 and has recently been invited to join the ISA Inspections Committee.  The most recent Inspection report reflects Geraldine’s belief that in order for pupils to achieve their true potential the pastoral care afforded to them by the school is paramount.  Geraldine is married with one daughter.  Apart from education, she has a wide range of interests including music and the theatre.

On Riverston’s acquisition of Beech Hall Geraldine agreed to focus on developing the Junior School. In January 2015 Beech Hall’s nursery and pre-school were rated ‘Outstanding’ by ISI thereby providing Geraldine with the opportunity to continue her remarkable work with our younger pupils.
