Dr Pullaperuma is currently Consultant and Honorary Senior Lecturer in Paediatric Neurodisability at Imperial College of Medicine Health Care NHS Trust in London. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health, and a member of the British Paediatric Neurology Association, the American Academy of Childhood Disability and Cerebral Palsy, the European Academy of Childhood Disability, the British Association of Community Child Health, and the Autism Steering Group.
In addition to his work at Imperial College, Sunil has been a Consultant Paediatrician at Great Ormond Street Hospital since 2004. His clinical experience embraces 4 years as SHO/Registrar paediatrics, 4 years as Senior Registrar paediatrics, and nearly 19 year’ experience as a Consultant.
Sunil has significant experience in paediatric neurology (St Mary’s Hospital and Great Ormond Street Hospital), children with special educational needs (Imperial College Health Care Trust), neurophysiology (Great Ormond Street Hospital), Botulinum Toxin for Children with Cerebral Palsy (Great Ormond Street Hospital, Friberg Hospital in Germany, and University Hospital in Belgium), social communication disorders (St Mary’s Hospital and Guys Hospital), child protection, child psychiatry, and general paediatrics and neonatology. Sunil regularly lectures at Imperial College of Medicine, London and is an examiner at both undergraduate and postgraduate level to the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health.
