David Urani
David Urani is a Chartered Educational Psychologist with a wealth of experience garnered from working in Australia and the United Kingdom. He has been chartered with the British Psychological Society since 1997, and is registered with the Health & Care Professions Council since its inception in 2009.
David has been practising as a psychologist since 1987 in Australia and England, and holds the following degrees; a four year Bachelor of Psychology from the University of Western Australia (1986), a Postgraduate Diploma in Education from Edith Cowan University (1987), and a Master of Science in Educational Psychology from University College London (1998).
He first taught in a mainstream primary school in Perth, Australia, before qualifying as a School Psychologist and gaining Registered Psychologist status with the Western Australian Psychologists Registration Board in 1990.
David moved to the UK in 1996, and initially taught children with autism and language disorders in two inner London Local Authorities- Southwark and Waltham Forest. He worked as a Locum Educational Psychologist in the London Boroughs of Southwark, Waltham Forest and Hammersmith & Fulham in 1996-97, before commencing his postgraduate studies at University College London.
David has been in private practice since 1998, and established his own practice in 2003, specialising in the educational assessment of children with learning difficulties, autism and related social communication difficulties.
He has specialised in expert witness work in England and Wales, preparing independent reports and appearing as a witness at Special Educational Needs & Disability Tribunal hearings. He has also undertaken assessment work in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland.
David divides his time between the UK and Australia, which has enabled him to develop an international perspective which he has brought to his work with children and young adults.
